Over the roofs - Milan from above

On my last trip to Milan just before Christmas, I had the opportunity to visit some roof terraces of the most beautiful Milanese hotels. The view – terrific. But look yourself and when you are going to plan your next trip, then you should definitely consider one of these hotels. Now it was winter, but imagine the whole thing in the summer … Maybe with a delicious cocktail in your hand and easy background music …

Westin Palace Hotel

The Westin Palace Hotel was the first stop. At 07.30 we were waiting for the sunrise on the terrace. The Westin Palace Hotel is part of the Starwood Hotel chain. A 4 star hotel in the heart of Milan. The shopping destinations can be reached by foot.

No more excuses: I forgot my sport stuff and can’t go to do sports. This excuse does not count here. Because for 5 € you can rent a complete outfit from New Balance …

Westin Palace View

Uptown Hotel

The Uptown Palace Hotel has also 4 stars and is located in the immediate vicinity of the Cathedral of Milan. From the roof you can see the cathedral excellently. Restaurants are located not far from the hotel and only 200m away, there is also a small supermarket.

Me Milan il Duca

ME Milan il Duca belongs to the hotel chain “Melia Hotels”. The hotel is in my opinion very stylish. A large, welcoming entrance hall and all enchantingly decorated.

Either you go to the terrace and enjoy the view or you sit inside, enjoy your coffee and the view. The restaurant is located on the top floor.

Townhouse

Das Townhouse is located in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. The luxurious 5 star hotel has the most perfect view over the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. There is no alternative to this view. If you are in Milan and you want to see the people from above, you should definitely stop here. The hotel opened in March 2007. The prevailing, dominant colors are white, beige and gold. Everything is very simple and clean chic (what I love btw). If you want to book one of the 25 suites, you will also receive your own butler. Well, you can treat yourself very good if you want. 😉

Grand Hotel et de Milan

Grand Hotel et de Milan celebrates 150 years anniversary. As I sat there in the lobby, I could see some stars and starlets walking by. Right next to me was Tilda Swinton. When she arrived, she had a very strange wig on her head. But when she sat with some friends at the table, this ridiculous thing (which reminded strongly of Pumuckl) was taken off. Here in the hotel it seems anyway that nobody cares who you are. Apparently they are accustomed to prominence here.

The hotel has three restaurants: Gerry’s Bar, nice to drink coffee.
Caruso with a beautiful and above all bright winter garden.
Don Carlos, which is an homage to the Maestro Verdi, with many pictures and sketches.

The hotel is less stylish and modern, but rather classic and antique furnished.

The Tourist Board of Lombardia gave me this opportunity due to an invitation to visit these hotels (and much more). I had a few really great days. Thank you so much for the wonderful opportunity.
